LzBatch™ provides a batch job submission environment enabling existing JCL to drive job suites without changes, including support for spooled output job scheduling and many commonly used batch utilities
Batch Job Submission
A fully implemented system to support batch job submission and management. Jobs can be submitted directly from the LzLabs Management Console via Network Job Entry, a Web Services API, or from several compatible Job Scheduling systems. Batch job activity can be monitored and managed from within the LzLabs Management Console.
Spool & Output Management
Provides a consolidated and compatible model for managing application output. The spooled output is also visible to the Linux environment, facilitating straightforward processing by standard Linux facilities and tools.
JCL support, including embedded procedures and conditional JCL processing. JCL editing can be managed within the the LzLabs Management Console or, since the JCL is stored as Linux files, a from within a modern source-code management system of choice.
LzBatch stores SYSOUT datasets and job logs in spool files. Facilities are provided for browsing, printing, and deleting jobs on the spool.
Network Job Entry
Jobs submitted from the mainframe can be routed to SDM via an NJE network, and conversely jobs can be submitted from SDM and routed back to the legacy platform.
Web services interface designed to enable modern schedulers to work with legacy job control.
All output managed by LzBatch is directly and natively visible to the Linux operating environment. Consequently, it is easy to integrate legacy output with modern tools designed to manage computer-generated, human-readable information.
Control of batch throughput using compatible job class definitions and initiator availability.
SDM comes equipped with a range of utilities functionally and syntactically compatible with IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEBUPDTE, IEBCOPY amongst others.
