LzOnline™ Product

LzOnline™ is a unified environment for rehosting CICS® and IMS™ TM applications, without source-code changes or recompilation, on x86 architecture computers running the Linux operating system

Unified Implementation

A unified implementation, based on a single code-base, for re-hosting CICS® and IMS™ TM applications onto a native Linux transaction management system

Transaction Management

By leveraging the transaction management of PostgreSQL, SDM transforms the arcane transactional model of the mainframe into one understood by anyone familiar with modern transactional systems. Support for traditional transaction semantics and recoverable resources is augmented with the transparency of modern database-oriented transactional control.

Enterprise Scale

Maximum exploitation of modern scale-out architectures and native Linux performance optimisations ensures LzOnline can support workloads measured in thousands of transactions per second.

Compatibility

Native Linux implementations of the most widely used features available to online mainframe applications. LzOnline includes APIs created for maximum interoperability to ensure CICS® and IMS™ TM online applications can run on SDM without any source-code changes or recompilation.

Messaging

Legacy Applications can enjoy the advantages of modern message-oriented middleware without compromising interoperability. No source-code changes are required to legacy applications, and now these applications can now be managed by a modern generation of IT professionals.

  • Resource Sharing

Using native Linux facilities, memory, queues, files and certain other resources can be shared among concurrent transactions with serialisation and maximum separation for reliability

  • 3270 Listener

    Richly-featured 3270 listener enables screen-oriented interactions with CICS® and IMS™ TM programs.

  • IPIC Protocol Support

Provides protocol support for CICS® Transaction Gateway and Multi-Region Operation for function shipping and transaction routing.

  • OTMA & MQ Bridge Support

Integration with OTMA and MQ to enable interoperability with distributed invocation of IMS™ TM programs.

  • Message Switching

Support for IMS™ TM message-switched programs.

  • Security

Based on LDAP but with the same level of authorisation granularity as the legacy mainframe, LzOnline enables a modern workforce to administer security of legacy applications.

  • Screen Mapping

Implementation of Basic Mapping Services support to preserve functionality of CICS® applications, written with rich 3270 interfaces.

  • Web Sockets

Support for CICS® Web Sockets, both client and server-implemented.

  • Web Services

SOAP-based web services interface to rehosted programs. Support for URIMAP and pipelines.

  • Asynchronous Transactional Messaging

Message queue interaction is included within the applications transaction boundary so it becomes a recoverable resource.
