Live from CeBIT: LzLabs Shows Software Defined Mainframe

This new technology allows developers to run existing mainframe software applications and data on x86 Red Hat Linux servers. Developed by LzLabs, this solution should be available from the middle of this year.

The software mainframe of LzLabs will support the substantial existing operating environments and languages ​​(PL/1, COBOL). This allows operators to reduce the investment in software and hardware, with the value of their previous investments remaining in older software applications, data, and business processes. The solution shown at the fair is both for use in its own data centers on machines running Red Hat Linux as well as for use on the cloud platform, Microsoft Azure. Test customers are already some Swiss banks or insurance companies.
